ArgoGlobal picks The Sick Children’s Trust as chosen charity
The Sick Children’s Trust is pleased to announce that ArgoGlobal has chosen to support the charity for the next two years. ArgoGlobal have already participated in an exciting programme of fundraising events over the past few months, including; The Sick Children’s Trust Golf Day, the Tough Mudder challenge, and All Out For Cricket in The City. ArgoGlobal employees have committed over 189 hours of their time to volunteering and are estimated to raise £50,000 before the end of the year for The Sick Children’s Trust.
As part of the fundraising programme, 14 ArgoGlobal employees will run in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 8 October. The Sick Children’s Trust will have 45 team members taking part.
The half marathon takes place in the capital’s world-famous landmarks on closed roads and four of London’s eight Royal Parks. Starting from Hyde Park at 9am, the route also includes Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.
“Delighted to be supporting”
Katie MacGregor, Charity Committee Chair says: “We are delighted to be supporting The Sick Children’s Trust as our charity of choice for 2017 and 2018.
“For over three decades, The Sick Children’s Trust have worked tirelessly to provide families with sick children in hospital access to free, high-quality ‘Home from Home’ accommodation, which has been found to benefit a child’s recovery and emotional well-being.
“We are proud that the money raised by ArgoGlobal from the Royal Parks Half Marathon will help families spend more time together during an extremely difficult period. We look forward to working with The Sick Children’s Trust on future initiatives.”
The Royal Parks Half Marathon is celebrating its tenth birthday this year and has remained successful in part because the event is designed with spectators in mind as well as the participants. The supporting crowds create an uplifting atmosphere for the runners, whilst enjoying the best green space London has to offer.
There will be a #TeamSCT cheering station at the 6.5 and 8.5 mile marks where friends, families and supporters can come to cheer along the runners.
Please lend your support either in person or by donating to The Sick Children’s Trust.
(Rein4ce is delighted to provide free public relations services to The Sick Children’s Trust as part of our commitment to giving something back to society. The charity does invaluable work in providing support and accommodation to the families of children who are seriously ill and companies within the insurance and reinsurance sector have been very generous in their backing of the charity.)
