Rendez-Vous Preview
It is that time of year again, when the good and the great of the reinsurance world head to Monte Carlo for the annual Rendez-Vous. Bermudians and Americans will already be winging their way across the Atlantic, while most BA flights from London and Zurich on Sunday contain most of the worlds’ reinsurance brains in one metal vessel – wonder what the risk assessment for that would be…
Anyhow, I have dusted off my cocktail frocks, and my array of suitable “smart-but-casual” gear for four days of back-to-back meetings and parties galore.
Underwriting discipline/pricing and growth high on the agenda
I will try, technology permitting, to blog from Monte and let those of you who cannot make it know what is going on. Underwriting discipline/pricing and lack of overall growth will be high on the agenda of things talked about this year.
I see tropical storm Igor is setting across the Atlantic, so if he grows, then Atlantic storms and hiked prices/failure to reload with capital will be the topic.
But we shall see. In the mean time rest assured champagne will be drunk with old friends all in one of the nicest conference settings in the world – and maybe we will even be making new friends over late night drinks.
If you fancy catching up, drop me a note via my Twitter account or through the website.
