MultiStrat, the specialist underwriter, reinsurance investment facilitator and casualty insurance-linked securities (ILS) company, has announced that it has appointed Maryam Abdullah as Head of Pricing, to support the company’s growth plans for 2025.

Abdullah, who specialises in product development for structured and capital relief transactions, is a fully qualified Actuary (FIA) with over 20 years of actuarial experience.

In an article for Global [Re]Insurance, Brandon Nuttall, chief digital and AI officer at Xceedance, explains why data management is essential if insurance innovators want to supercharge their businesses.

Nuttall said: “The industry has been hamstrung by a lack of standardised data, as well as by keeping data in various silos. GenAI, however, is the technology that can enable us to rapidly process and standardise data to create more commoditised products that will improve accessibility and drive industry growth.”

IQUW, a property and specialty re/insurer, has strengthened its Energy team with three new appointments. Chris Touhey joins as Senior Underwriter, Energy, alongside Darren Stewart as Head of Marine, Energy, & Aviation Claims, and Darryl Krobel as MEA Engineer.

Touhey and Krobel will both be based in London, reporting to David Message, Lead Underwriter, Energy, and Stewart will also be based in London and report to Gavin Williams, Head of Claims.
